Inside Laurel Court—A 1907 Tour

The library is paneled in African Rosewood with the grain matched to form a butterfly pattern. Its quarter-sawn oak floor is laid in a herringbone pattern. The library housed about three thousand volumes, all them very choice and for the most part bound in Moroccan leather. The Turkish carpets were woven especially for this room as well as others.
