_____________

NOT READY FOR A YEAR
_____________

The most palatial residence west of the Alleghenies, with the exception of J. B. Haggin’s home near Lexington, is fast nearing completion at College Hill.
This house is to be the home of Peter G. Thomson, the millionaire paper manufacturer, and is located at Belmont and Highland avenues.
The ground covers more than nine acres and is an exact reproduction of the “Chateau Trianon” of Louis XVI, in the suburb of Versailles, near Paris, France.

Will Be Sumptuous Palace
This residence will be the most sumptuous and palatial in this part of the country. The exterior as well as the interior will be finished with all the lavishness money and good taste can command.
The building proper will be two stories in height. There will be two wings, connected by a covered court,

which will also form the entrances to the home.

The materials will be green marble from North Carolina. The interior will be as near the style of Louis XVI as consistent with modern sanitary condition. The furnishings will, in the main, be bought in Europe. The hangings on the walls will be tapestries from some of the most famous mills, while the rugs will be bought in Turkey.

Not Ready for a Year
Mr. Thomson has engaged an expert to go to Armenia and Turkey to select rugs for his home. The place will not be ready for occupancy for a year at least.
The cost of the improvements is estimated at $450,000. This figure may be exceeded when the entire improvement is perfected.
